About Winery and Wines

Founded in 1936, Cantina Gerardo Cesari soon became synonymous with Veronese wines throughout the world. The original aim of the Cesari family was in fact to produce a great Amarone that could compete with the best Italian and international red wines. As early as the early 1970s, Cesari Amarone was among the first to arrive on the five continents. Thus began the Cesari wines' history of success in the world. Today, Gerardo Cesari is a company in continuous evolution that does not forget the history of its territory and its origins. Composed of two wineries, one in Cavaion Veronese and the other in Fiumane, it has further objectives: to listen to the market in order to propose unique, elegant, harmonious and balanced wines, respecting a tradition that makes use of new knowledge in the vineyard, producing in an environmentally sustainable way and guaranteeing the consumer, thanks to careful certification of the wine-making processes.

The Cesari winery has several vineyards with different characteristics to allow optimum ripening and character to the grapes grown. The Bosan vineyard is located in the heart of Valpolicella, in the Corrubbio di Negarine area, and has been selected for the production of Amarone Bosan, the company's flagship product. The surface area is about 10 hectares cultivated with 80% Corvina and 20% Rondinella. In the Jèma vineyard, in the classic zone of Valpolicella, the best Corvina is selected and has a Pergola Veronese system, where the rows are harvested step by step and the grapes are harvested strictly by hand. The Il Bosco vineyard is located to the south-east of Castelrotto, in Valpolicella, and extends over 5 hectares at an altitude of 150 metres above sea level. The vines are on average about 20 years old with a simple pergola system with about 3,300 vines per hectare. The Vigneto Cento Filari cru originates from the hundred rows destined for the production of the Lugana wine of the same name. The types of vines present are: Turbiana 95% and Chardonnay 5%.
