Exceptional Organic Wines from Peloponnese
At Halkia Organic Winery, we are dedicated to crafting artisan-style, natural wines that reflect our family's rich winemaking heritage. Each bottle is a labor of love, showcasing the passion and care that goes into our production process.
The Winemaker's Story
For over a century, the Halkiá family has nurtured the finest grapes on the scenic slopes of Neméa, a renowned viticultural area in Greece's Peloponnese region. Traditionally, the family supplied their harvest to cooperatives until Anna (Arápoglou) Halkiá changed the course of their legacy.
In 1985, Anna, who grew up in Australia, married George Halkiás and returned to Neméa, where she discovered her passion for winemaking. As her children grew, so did her dream of creating exceptional wines. In 2004, she began producing small batches of wine, emphasizing quality and craftsmanship. By 2007, all their vineyards achieved organic certification, reflecting their commitment to sustainable practices. In 2017, Halkiá Winery opened its doors, offering artisanal, natural wines that appeal to discerning palates.
About the Wines
At Halkia Winery, we prioritize using only the finest organically farmed, hand-picked grapes. We believe that exceptional wine begins with quality ingredients, which is why we meticulously select our grapes. Our winemaking process is free from additives and processing aids, allowing the grapes' natural flavors to shine in every sip.
Our wines are unfiltered and unfined, preserving the unique characteristics of the grapes. This minimal intervention approach fosters the development of each wine's personality and complexity. We only add 30 mg/l of sulfites at bottling to maintain stability and freshness.
Experience the essence of Greece with Halkia Winery, where top-quality ingredients and a commitment to organic practices create wines that truly reflect our heritage.
