About Winery and Wines

The historical La Casaccia family estate is located in the vicinity of San Gusmè, a small medieval village in the Sienese Chianti area where the territory of the municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga borders on the Gaiole in Chianti and Radda territories. The estate which has been owned by the same family for more than three centuries, covers approximately 130 hectares of land, including an overall area of about 19 hectares planted with vines, more than 3 thousand olive trees, woods, pastureland, a small village and the company's headquarters. The numerous vineyards dedicated to the estate's vticultural activities are situated at altitudes varyng between 400 and 500 metres a.s.l., and are aged from 5 to 40 years.

We produce wine for generations. From generation to generation, each has interpreted according to its nature the art of the winemaker selecting different clones of Sangiovese considered most suited to his taste, as choosing the type and time of pruning to regulate the production, cultivation techniques, the 'time of fertilization, the depth of the workings of the ground and playing on the date of collection and maturation, or the type of wood of the barrels for aging to "create" the wine he had in mind. Now is the time of Francis and Laura interpreting the Chianti Classico using only Sangiovese and 27 hl oak barrels for aging. In addition to the Chianti Classico wine, mostly sold abroad, La Casaccia also produces Vin Santo, olive oil and red wine IGT Toscana.
