About Winery and Wines
La Madeleine winery, owned by the D’Alema family, sits on the hills between Narni and Otricoliin the Italian region of Umbria. The estate was previously dedicated to livestock farming. The vision and mission of the owners guided the long and substantial renovations needed before the vineyards and olive groves could be hosted on the estate. La Madeleine winery is located near the archaeological site of Ocriculum, hosting an ancient waterway port, and the estate covers an area of 7,5 hectares (which includes Pinot noir, Cabernet franc, Marsellan, Tannat and Ciliegiolo grapes).
La Madeleine produces around 42,000 bottles per year, using solar energy and rainwater collected through the use of tanks. The owners have retained the name of the estate: La Madeleine. This name echoes with literary intensity and represents a reference to the centrality of memory to the future and innovation.
La Madeleine winery, located in Narni, Umbria, produces a distinctive collection of wines rooted in the region's clay-rich, fossil-laden soils. Notable offerings include Nerosé and Nerosé 60, both Pinot Noir-based Extra Brut sparklers aged for 36 and 60 months, respectively, as well as Julì, a fresh Pinot Noir rosé. Red wines like Flò (Ciliegiolo) and Sfide (Cabernet Franc) are matured in oak, enhancing complexity. The flagship NarnOt and Pinot Nero La Madeleine showcase Cabernet Franc and Pinot Noir, each aged extensively in barrique and bottle to capture elegance and depth.
