Piacevole i vini, bella la struttura, anche se lasciamo la bocca sempre troppo dolce.

About Winery and Wines

The first reliable information we have on La Montina dates back to 1620 when Benedetto Montini, ancestor of Pope Paul VI, built the mansion today called Villa Baiana. In 1982, the La Montina Estate was purchased by the Bozza Family. The three brothers Vittorio, Gian Carlo and Alberto, faithful to the family’s winemaking tradition, began building the winery, removing, between 1986 and 2007, the equivalent of about 85,000 cubic metres of hillside to create a production facility covering about 7,500 m², completely underground. Today, the company, which is dedicated solely to the production of Franciacorta DOCG, is one of the most representative of Franciacorta with a production of about 400,000 bottles a year, and is one of the very few to still use soft pressing thanks to a “Marmonier Vertical Press”. Inside the Estates, along with the La Montina winery and its direct-sale Wine Shop, several business enterprises coexist: the seventeenth-century Villa Baiana, which hosts private and business events, the Baiana Congress Centre and the first Museum of Contemporary Art in Franciacorta: the “Remo Bianco”. Today, the values of the Bozza family are also attended to by grandchildren Michele and Daniele, who interpret them according to innovative and technologically advanced concepts, respecting the territory and past generations.

La Montina was established in Monticelli Brusati in the province of Brescia, in the extreme northeast section of Franciacorta, close to a natural morainic amphitheatre where all the transitable roads end and the wooded Mugnina Valley starts to run along Lake Iseo, which crowns the small area of Franciacorta. The extraordinary micro-climate produced by this morphological conformation gives the vine and the olive a perfect natural habitat for maturation and growth... Franciacorta La Montina wines are produced according to stringent Franciacorta Wine Consortium Regulations, the most restrictive in the world with regard to the Classic method. A clear demonstration of the work done in researching the very highest quality.
