LA RAJADE
(Winery in Collio)
About Winery and Wines
La Rajade is a small winery owned by the Campeotto and Faurlin families for over 20 years, located in Dolegna del Collio, in the northernmost part of the Collio area.
The seven hectares of estate vineyards and the winery’s daily operations are managed by Luca and Denis, who oversee the production of about 35,000 bottles per year.
The goal of La Rajade, meaning “ray of sunshine” in the local dialect, is to bring into the glass the uniqueness and distinctive character of its territory. This area benefits from a unique microclimate, influenced by altitude and proximity to the Adriatic Sea, creating significant day/night temperature variations that enhance the wines’ aromas and bouquet. Above all, the soil, known as ponca, a mix of marl and sandstone, imparts the distinctive minerality typical of the Collio.
Freshness and minerality are the defining traits of our wines, complemented by a structure that ensures excellent aging potential.
The winery produces white wines from native grape varieties such as Ribolla Gialla, Friulano, and Collio Bianco da Uve Autoctone (a blend of Friulano, Malvasia Istriana, and Ribolla Gialla).
We also produce wines from international varieties such as Pinot Grigio (also available in a sulfite-free version), Sauvignon Blanc, and a red wine made from Merlot and Cabernet Franc. All wines are Collio DOC certified.
In addition, the range includes Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Caprizi (a white blend of Malvasia Istriana, Friulano, and Chardonnay): three Collio DOC Riserva wines, released after aging years in wood. The selection is completed by Schioppettino, a native red variety certified as IGT Venezia Giulia.
