Lonati Winery | Rocca delle Langhe

Lonati Winery is a family-run winery based in Castiglione Tinella, with vineyards stretching across the Langhe and Monferrato, two of Piedmont’s most distinctive wine-growing areas.

At the heart of the winery are Marco and Viviana, two different backgrounds brought together by a shared project. Marco, an agronomist and winemaker, looks after the vineyards and follows every stage of winemaking. Viviana, a graphic designer and art director, shapes the visual identity of the winery, from the labels to the way each bottle tells its story.

Their home is Rocca delle Langhe, surrounded by vineyards in the hills of Castiglione Tinella. Here, tradition is the starting point rather than a set of rules. The winery works mainly with the native grapes of the area, including Moscato, Barbera and Nebbiolo, while constantly exploring different winemaking techniques, ageing methods and styles.

This curiosity has become an important part of Lonati Winery’s identity. Each wine is created to show a different side of its grape and its place of origin, from fresh, immediate expressions to wines with greater structure and complexity.

For Marco and Viviana, wine is also about sharing. Visitors to Rocca delle Langhe can walk through the vineyards, discover the cellar and barrel room, and sit down together to taste the wines where they are made.

Because the best way to understand a wine is to discover the land, the work and the people behind it.

At Lonati Winery, there is no single way to make wine.

The collection moves through different grapes, styles and winemaking choices, from fresh and easy-drinking wines to more structured bottles designed to evolve with time.

Moscato, Barbera and Nebbiolo are at the heart of the production, alongside sparkling and white wines. Some wines are aged in steel to preserve freshness and fruit, others spend time in wood to develop greater depth and complexity. Different techniques, different expressions, but always with the same goal: to let the grape and its territory speak clearly.

The result is a collection that offers different sides of the Langhe and Monferrato: the aromatic character of Moscato, the freshness and energy of younger wines, the intensity of Barbera and Nizza, and the many expressions of Nebbiolo, from its most immediate style to the elegance and complexity of Barbaresco.
