About Winery and Wines

Masiero is a family estate located in an area of unique beauty, on the hills around Trissino, rising from the Po Valley with the Dolomites in the background. An area suited to viticulture where the soil alternates between limestone and volcanic areas, this unique place gives life to unique wines and the passion is our precious added value.

These local grapes are grown following a modern biodynamic technique. This idea originates from the desire to respect the natural environment, avoiding any possible chemical intervention that could alter the peculiarity of the microclimate or destroy the vitality of the soil.

In the cellar, the principles remain exactly the same. We avoid any process that can alter the integrity of the fruit, and we follow the must in its natural and delicate process of transformation into wine without the aid of selected yeasts, starter, sulfur, or temperature control. The wines reflect their vintage, each year different and unrepeatable.

The first wine was Verdugo, a wine produced in honor of Gianfranco's father with an old Merlot vineyard. Deep and powerful wine. Then in 2014 the recovery of old neighboring vineyards began, significantly increasing production thanks to parcels of Garganega, Tai Rosso, Pinot Noir and Pinot Grigio. The rebirth of these plots has given rise to wines which are today highly appreciated such as "Moki", a Pinot Grigio pèt nat vinified in contact with the skins and "Lazaro", a very delicate Garganega, macerated on the skins in a marble container until San Martino , November 11th. Each new vintage of Giulia and Gianfranco's wines is an excellent snapshot of the enormous potential of this area.
