About Winery and Wines
Matuné, 'little boy' in Piedmontese dialect, is the affectionate way in which the old farmers call Alberto.
The farm was born in 2015 from the desire to rediscover new forms of sustainable agriculture; reclaiming the moments of a forgotten life through an ancient tradition, where crafts and human relations intertwine in the everyday rhythms of the seasons.
Matunei is grapes and wine: organic cultivation, manual processing and respect for the vintage and the territory. The vinification proceeds respecting the grapes and the vintage with no sophistications to obtain a wine that speaks frankly to the palate.
Matunei is also hospitality: from 2020 the old barn of the late 19th century farmhouse became a B&B Suite. A unique experience in contact with rural life. To savor the most authentic Monferrato.
We produce wine with Piemontese traditional varietals such as Barbera, Grignolino, Freisa and Nebbiolo.
The wines are produced with a selection of the farm's best organically-grown grapes, vinified and aged almost exclusively in steel and with minimal additions of sulphites to obtain a frank wine that reflects the vintage.
