About Winery and Wines
Pfitscher Winery has been passionately producing wine for over 150 years, with two generations working side by side. The winery is known for its clean, straightforward wines that come from high-altitude vineyards, where the cooler climate enhances their expression and finesse. Steep slopes are no obstacle to producing brilliant wines, and the family values collaboration and organic viticulture. As the first Italian winery to receive CasaClima Wine certification, Pfitscher's commitment to quality and sustainability is central to its philosophy.
The vineyards are the foundation for Pfitscher's unique wines and their strong character. Montagna is an idyllic place on the oriental hang just above Rocca Castelfeder. An area rife with steep slopes, precious terraces, and a mild, alpine-continental climate. In the heart of this unique producing area, you will find the estate's new, energy-efficient wine cellars. Other than in Montagna, Pfitscher has vineyards in Cortaccia as well as in Egna, where autochthonal grape varieties like Lagrein or Vernaccia grow. Therewith, the estate has a natural variety of territories characterized by rich soil and cultivated by them according to natural principles.
