Driven by a deep curiosity for biodynamic principles, Davide Bigucci has developed a unique passion for amphora winemaking. Fascinated by this ancient method, which dates back thousands of years, Davide dedicated himself to thorough study and experimentation.

His journey led to the creation of a remarkable white wine: Rebola, crafted from a native grape variety well-suited to the region. Carefully selected grapes are destemmed and gently pressed, with the must left to ferment and age for several months in large Georgian terracotta amphorae. This skin-contact process enhances the wine’s character and depth, while preserving the purest expression of its Romagna terroir.

This wine marks the first milestone in Davide’s commitment to a winemaking style that reconnects man and soil in harmony. A prestigious wine that invites us to experience the soul of this extraordinary corner of Italy — Romagna.

Guided by the belief that each grape variety must be matched to its ideal terroir and climate, Podere Vecciano has undertaken significant work in recent years to optimize vineyard orientation and understand the microclimatic and soil characteristics of its land. Today, the estate stands at the forefront of Romagna’s leading wine producers.

White grape varieties have been replanted in a small, highly suitable valley, where cooler conditions enhance their aromatic expression. Meanwhile, red varieties—requiring more sun and exposure—thrive on the upper slopes of the estate. Here, the soil proves particularly well-suited to Sangiovese, bringing out the grape’s hallmark finesse, elegance, and depth of character.
