About Winery and Wines

Hello, my name's Oreste and I am the owner of "Poggio agli Ulivi", a small winery located in Colli Albani, near Frascati. This company has belonged to my family since the 1940s, and since then, for generations, we have been producing the "Malvasia Puntinata" grape, one of the varieties used for the Frascati DOC wine. I am a passionate winemaker - and owner of a small bakery in the historic center of Frascati - and I was lucky enough to be born in a territory that has a millenary winemaking tradition behind it. We are in fact on volcanic soil and here the climate is ideal all year round: the hills always face the sun and the cold never reaches the valley. All this contributes to preserving the biodiversity of this area.

I love to sare the story of my family to all wine lovers and to convey the peasant traditions that, since 1940, have marked the passing of the seasons for the production of grapes destined for Frascati DOC. That's why, in the farmhouse built by my father, I propose to every curious traveler who's eager to know the local culture, the Farmer's Breakfast experience: a meal that my grandparents and I we ate in front of the fireplace, between the crackling wood, on cold winter days, or in the shade of olive trees in good weather. Simple, genuine ingredients of local traction that every traveler can savor, admiring my vineyard and the black and white photos of the harvest, the beating heart and crucial moment in country life.
