In the heart of the Val D'Orcia, Poggio del Moro is a boutique winery led by a passionate entrepreneur, Tania, where organic wines are produced without resorting to pesticides and limiting interventions to a minimum. In the 14 hectares of vineyards and 6 hectares of olive groves, the varieties grow in harmony in a natural and intact habitat. In addition to organic wine, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, jams, and honey are produced on the estate.
Poggio del Moro is a modern, well-equipped winery featuring a luxurious tasting room and a boutique shop, offering a warm welcome to all guests. Poggio del Moro is also an extraordinary open-air art gallery where exhibitions of emerging artists and evocative contemporary art performances are regularly hosted. Tastings are organized in various languages with guided tours in the vineyards, in the oil mill, and the cellar.
At Poggio del Moro, the vineyards span 14 hectares, with 12 dedicated to red grape varieties such as Sangiovese, Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Pinot Nero, while the remaining 2 hectares are home to white grape varieties, including Trebbiano Procanico, Grechetto, and Malvasia Toscana. The vineyards are planted according to the natural contours of the hills, preserving the integrity of the soil profiles by using only a ripper to prepare the ground. This approach results in 10 distinct plots, 7 of which surround a serene lake.
The products of Poggio del Moro are unique, crafted with a commitment to being 100% organic, and rooted in traditional Italian agricultural practices. The wines mature in an aging room constructed from old bricks, hidden in the deepest part of the estate. This environment provides the ideal conditions for aging, with silence, time, and stable temperatures contributing to the wines' development. The reverence for nature and tradition results in wines that are unsurpassable in their aroma, capturing the concentrated freshness of the local air.
