Courtesy, preparation and attention to the customer. A small winery that produces interesting wines. The accompanying products are also good. The tasting, accompanied by good background music, was held in the cellar among the barrels and amphorae.

About Winery and Wines

Poggio Mori, a picturesque winery and farmhouse, is located in Sarteano, in the province of Siena, nestled within Tuscany's renowned Chianti wine region. The history of Poggio Mori began with the vision of four friends, the founding partners, who sought to create a place where they could live, work the land, and produce wine, olive oil, and other agricultural products.

The main villa, dating back to the 18th century, has deep historical roots, with records suggesting it may have originally belonged to the Boninsegni family from Siena. The estate has changed hands over the centuries, with one of the notable owners being the Mori family. While some believe the farm was named after this family, others suggest that the name derives from the wild berry-bearing plants, known as "mori," found near the farm.

The villa has undergone extensive and careful renovation, preserving its original, clean lines while incorporating modern elements. The decor is a blend of simple, elegant touches with contemporary furniture, local travertine stone, wood, and steel, creating a harmonious and stylish ambiance. The estate includes a "limonaia," or breakfast room, complete with a wood oven and barbecue, and newly added cottages seamlessly integrated with the historic villa via stone paths and steps, all set around two large decorative pools.

From the fertile land surrounding Poggio Mori comes an array of exceptional products.
