Quinta da Avessada is located on the vineyard plateau of Favaios, in the center of the Douro demarcated area. At 600 meters above sea level and with 1000 hectares of planted area, this is the highest and flattest point in the region. A vast territory in which 90% of its vineyards are cultivated with the Moscatel Galego variety. The one that gives rise to Moscatel de Favaios. Built mainly with native materials: wood and shale, the Quinta is involved in the landscape as if it were part of it.
Surrounded by vineyards that blend into the horizon with the sky and the distant mountains. With 160 years of existence, Quinta da Avessada lives on the traditions and legacy of the ancestors who passed through it. It was the first farm in the region to plant the Moscatel Galego variety and consequently to produce Moscatel de Favaios. From Marquês de Pombal to Dona Antónia passing through the Baron of Forrester, many personalities contributed to the stories we have to tell.

This ancestral estate features vineyards where 90% of the vines are dedicated to Moscatel, with the remaining 10% used for producing a fresh, fruity young red wine. Quinta da Avessada offers a rich blend of history, heritage, and winemaking tradition in a picturesque setting.
