About Winery and Wines
Real Cave do Cedro, a third-generation family winery, combines elements of tradition, innovation, and a deep connection to the land.
Its origins date back to 1951 with the first generation of the Aleixo Family. Business development and transition of leadership and ownership from one generation to the next were part of its natural evolution.
Located in the Bairrada region, in the center of Portugal, the vineyards are under a strong influence of the Mediterranean climate and clay-limestone soils. These factors contribute to the distinctiveness of the flavor and aroma of the Aleixo Family wines.
Baga, the queen of the red grapes' variety, due to the potential for longevity and ageing well, Maria Gomes (Fernão Pires) and Bical, known for producing elegant and aromatic wines, are the main grape varieties of the Aleixo wines.
The Aleixo Family offers a rare and unique wine vertical experience featuring vintages from 1996, 1997, and 2020, which showcases the evolution of the wine over a span of more than two decades.
