About the Wines
With the experience and university education of his father, Vitjan, Sancin Winery cultivates a mix of indigenous and international grape varieties across approximately 8 hectares. Among the whites, the winery focuses on Glera and Malvasia, while also growing Vitovska. These white grapes are used to produce vintage wines, vinified in white and aged in stainless steel barrels to preserve freshness, drinkability, and purity in the glass, resulting in superior, fine, and elegant wines. Due to the unique soil and climate conditions of the terroir, the white wines tend to have a slightly higher alcohol content.
For reds, Sancin produces wines from indigenous varieties such as Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso and Merlot, while also cultivating Cabernet Sauvignon, which is used in cuvées. The red wines are matured in barriques for varying periods to achieve structure, complexity, and richness, while maintaining delicacy and finesse.
In addition to winemaking, Sancin has a long tradition of olive cultivation and extra virgin olive oil production. On its 8 hectares, the estate tends to around 6,000 trees of various varieties, including native cultivars and experimental selections. With its own oil mill, the winery ensures full autonomy in production and guarantees consumers the utmost authenticity and quality in every bottle of oil.
