About Winery and Wines

The Sartieri vineyards were planted in the lands of Oltrepo Pavese in the late nineteenth century and have been handed down through the Saviotti families since then.
In the 1920s, the two homonymous friends Ernesto Saviotti and Paolino Saviotti decided to combine their work and organize the company according to a more entrepreneurial vision: they integrated the plants, increased production and expanded trade outside the region.
The arrival of war requires Ernesto to leave for the front while Paolino is called away by serious family problems.
The distance between the two founders but above all the hardships and fear spread by the war caused the suspension of the winemaking activity.
At home, only Severina (for us Aunt Zelinda) remains, Ernesto's sister, less inclined to the wine trade but with great skill as a seamstress, who in a few years will guide her in opening a real laboratory.
When the war ends, Ernesto returns home, where Paolino had already restarted wine production.
The winemaking and tailoring activities begin to influence each other, Ernesto and Paolino, in fact, make Zelinda's dedication their own, her attention to detail, her care for finishes, her resourcefulness in combinations but, above all, the desire to see in the eyes of customers the same happiness and satisfaction they have when they wear his creations. Sartieri's research to create a "tailor-made wine" began here, and never ended.

In 1975 Ernesto and his son Mario decided to build a new, larger and more efficient cellar. The works ended two years later but, in 1979, a landslide seriously damaged the building. In 1980 the reconstruction work began, and Ernesto and Paolino joined together, no longer only from a commercial point of view, but also from a family point of view, with the marriage of their children Mario and Enrica. At the end of the 80s a second landslide overwhelms the cellar and the house: the damage is enormous and the family decides to move to Casteggio, suspend the winemaking activity, and maintain only the vineyards. The 2000s saw the return to the company of Vitale Perucchini, Enrica's uncle, who after long years spent in Milan and abroad decided to return to Oltrepò Pavese, his mother's homeland. Vitale makes his great managerial experience and his Milanese mentality available to the business and, together with his niece, they develop a project to rebuild the company. Vitale today cannot see his work completed and Sartieri 1931, by reporting his year of birth, wants to honor his great experience as an industrialist, man of the world and uncle.

Today Enrica, Mario and their son Valerio are the protagonists of a company renewed in everything, except in its values... we kept those intact.

Our wines are cared for, refined and calibrated in their elements, created thinking of that elegant suit that accompanies you at formal dinners, that eccentric accessory that distinguishes you during the aperitif with friends, the silk scarf to wear at dinners of family and that sparkling dress that makes you the protagonist of the party.

PREMIÈRE - CLASSIC METHOD SPARKLING WINE Première 100% Pinot Noir is an intriguing and enveloping Oltrepò Pavese Classic Method Sparkling Wine, straw yellow color with light reflections of boulangerie aromas, white peach and nuances of citrus fruits, acacia honey and green pepper. Perfect as an aperitif, "Premiere" is also ideal for accompanying soups and veloutés, as well as fish and vegetarian dinners.

ALLURE - CLASSIC METHOD ROSE SPARKLING WINE The Oltrepò Pavese Metodo Classico 100% Pinot Nero Rosé Spumante seduces with its pale pink color, intertwined with small silver reflections, just like precious threads embroidering a fabric. The rustle of the fine and sinuous perlage opens up to floral and berry aromas, enhancing sensations of intriguing freshness and flavor in the mouth. Perfect as an aperitif, "Allure" is ideal to accompany complete dinners based on shellfish, fish, white meat or vegetarian dishes, soups and veloutés.

TUXEDO RED - PROVINCIA DI PAVIA BARBERA IGT
Tuxedo, produced with 100% Barbera grapes, immediately reveals itself as a strong and structured wine which, however, does not forget lightness and delicacy. The intense ruby red color with garnet reflections captures the sight and instinctively pushes the nose to the edge of the glass where it encounters withered red flowers, sweet spices, cocoa and a distant eucalyptus. One sip after another, its softness and its velvety approach, in addition to its being balanced and composed; the typical acid note of the vine has been rounded off by a 'rest' in the barrel. A wine suitable for drinking alone or paired with meat-filled pasta, red meat second courses, game, hard or mature cheeses, chocolate desserts.
