Spolert Winery

Spolert Winery was designed to be a lively and welcoming place, not just for traditional tastings, but also for those who simply want to stop by for a glass of good wine, chat with the winemaker, enjoy a canapé or a platter of local cheeses and cold cuts, and relax in our panoramic garden overlooking the Judrio Valley.

We are in Prepotto, in the eastern hills of Friuli, surrounded by vineyards where everything begins and where Schioppettino stands at the heart of it all, the grape variety that belongs to this place more than any other, alongside Friulano, Ribolla Gialla, and Merlot, which are part of its history; in the vineyard we observe and intervene only when necessary, while in the cellar we guide the process without forcing it, allowing time to complete the work so that each wine becomes a unique expression of a vintage, a climate, and the choices that arise from them—never a copy, but a different interpretation of the same place.

Spolert Winery's current proposal consists of two lines of wine: the “Traditional” one to denote the continuity between the ancient vines and the modern-day traditions: this line stands out for its cleanliness and exaltation of the varietal. The “Premium” wines have undergone different production and aging processes: Big Slavonia Oak barrels for the “Peper” Schioppettino di prepotto , maceration on the skins for the Malvasia and Chadonnay bland “Fausto”. The Merlot “Zirlo” and the Refosco dal peduncolo Rosso “Ostinato” are aged in barrique and cocciopesto amphora. We produce Ribolla gialla, Friulano, Malvasia, Merlot, Refosco, Schioppettino di Prepotto.
