About Winery and Wines
Tenuta Belguardo, located in the heart of the Tuscan Maremma, lies on the hills between Grosseto and Montiano, near the Tyrrhenian Sea. It is considered one of the most important estates in the region.
Purchased by the Mazzei family in the mid-1990s, the property spans 80 hectares, half of which are dedicated to carefully selected vineyards.
This is a truly exceptional terroir, the result of years of research, where an extensive vineyard replanting program began soon after the acquisition, guided by a precise selection of varietals and clones to fully express the character of the land.
The Belguardo estate produces seven wines: four reds, two whites, and a rosé, each of which expresses particular characteristics of the multi-faceted Maremma area. The diverse combination of soil-climate conditions allows for the cultivation of quite different grapes, yielding wines with high complexity and concentration, but also extraordinarily elegant and aromatic; so much so that Belguardo was able to establish itself as one of the reference standards of Maremma.
