About the Winery
Our family has deep roots in the countryside of Sirmione, where we’ve been cultivating vineyards for three generations. For over 30 years, we have grown Turbiana grapes, the heart and soul of Lugana wines.
Tenuta Frontelago is located in the hamlet of Lugana, right on the border of Lake Garda. Here, the clayey soils, constant lake breezes, and unique microclimate play a key role in shaping the character and structure of our wines.
In 2022, we took an important step forward by vinifying part of our own grapes and launching our first label: Lugana Frontelago 2022.
Continuing our commitment to quality and sustainability, in 2024, we completed our new wine cellar, built entirely in wood, and opened our on-site wine shop.
Today, Tenuta Frontelago is not only a symbol of tradition but also renewal, offering wines that reflect the elegance of the Lugana terroir and the passion of a family devoted to the land.
About the Wines
Tenuta Frontelago's vineyard is located in the part of Lugana bordering the shores of Lake Garda.
The winds and microclimate, combined with the characteristics of the predominantly clayey and calcareous soil, have an important impact on our wine, giving it a salty and mineral character. Fermentation takes place without conditioning, we let the must decant for a few hours in steel barrels and use selected yeasts, controlling the temperature, which varies between 16 and 19 degrees. The whole process lasts 6/7 months, then we let the wine rest in the bottle for at least a month before putting it on the market.

So anyone who would like an insight into a small Italian family business with a lot of passion is in the right place here.
Young ones to bet on
Exclusive tour and detailed explanations, the family management was evident and for us it was a plus.
Tastings and platter with standard quantities, curious pairings between the cheeses and the proposed sauces, you can see a refined effort.
A shame we couldn't tour the vineyard, even partially, for this reason 4 stars.
Being "young" unfortunately you can only buy one vintage, but there is a solution...

A lovely afternoon with friends and good wine
Just like home!
This tasting session, masterfully guided by Sara, was a pleasant journey of discovery of this small and new winery, of their love for what they do and for their land that gives them so much satisfaction.
The tasting of 3 excellent vintages of Lugana, accompanied by exquisite platters of cured meats and cheeses, with a view of the vineyards, in the shade of the porch at sunset, capped off a moment of pleasure, relaxation and personal enrichment.
Absolutely highly recommended.
Great experience
Sara was really good at explaining the history of the winery's start, the grape varieties, and a bit of the area's history.
Tasting with 3 vintages of their Lugana and 1 platter with cured meats and cheeses per person, outdoors with a view of the vine rows. Excellent wines, cured meats and cheeses as well. I wish this winery to be able to take off because it has wine with great potential.
