About Winery and Wines

Upon acquiring the estate in 2016, the owners surrounded themselves with local talent, in their own way guardians of the various expressions of Maremma and its terroir. The Il Quinto Estate stretches along 70 hectares in the hills of Magliano in Tuscany, in southern Maremma, with 13 hectares of organically farmed vines. Overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea to the south and protected by Mount Amiata to the north, Tenuta il Quinto enjoys a temperate climate. Warm summers, relieved by sea breezes, and mild winters create an ideal climate.

At Tenuta Il Quinto, everything revolves around the quality of the grapes. They chose to work in harmony with elements like wind, heat, and humidity, dividing the land for each grape variety according to the position of the vines and the quality of the soil. The uniqueness of their terroir is the result of the soil composition: calcareous and clayey, fresh and rich in minerals, replete with the necessary skeleton, to ensure natural drainage, by virtue of its filtering properties.
