About Winery and Wines
Torraccia di Presura is located in in a beautiful part of the Chianti Classico region, where vineyards alternate with olive groves and domestic and maritime pine woods, overlooking the river Ema, about 15 km south from Florence. Since 1986, year of purchase of the first vineyard, the estate has been enlarging through the years up to the current 75 hectares, of which about 35 are vineyards and 16 are olive groves. The winery also offers hospitality in the farmhouse of the historic complex of Villa Ulivello, of the early Nineteenth century, surrounded by a large garden offering interesting views on the surrounding landscape. The farmhouse is also an ideal starting point for interesting walks in the vineyards and olive groves of the farm
The predominant grape is Sangiovese, which is the “soul” of Chianti Classico, but in the vineyards of Torraccia of Presura one can find also Canaiolo Nero, Colorino, Foglia Tonda, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, which in various percentages go into the production of the wines of the winery. Also some white grapes are grown, Trebbiano, Malvasia Bianca Lunga of Chianti and Chardonnay, used to produce a white wine.
