Organic Wine Tasting with Food Pairing at Gabriele Mazzeschi in Castiglion Fiorentino
Here is what's in store for you
Your visit to the Gabriele Mazzeschi estate in Castiglion Fiorentino is a chance to explore organic winemaking and family tradition in Tuscany. You'll be welcomed by Gabriele Mazzeschi, the owner and winemaker, or another expert from his team.
The experience begins with a walk through the vineyards and a visit to the production cellar. Here, you'll learn about the organic philosophy of the family estate, Le Capanne, and the history that defines each bottle. The tour continues with a guided tasting in the dedicated tasting room. When the weather allows, the tasting can also be held in the garden.
You will taste seven of the estate's wines: two whites, one rosé, three reds, and a Passito. The selection changes depending on the day, but may include Vermentino vinified in a traditional ceramic amphora (Anfora Bianco), a Syrah (Commendatore), or a Canaiolo also aged in amphora (Anfora Rosso).
The wines are served with generous platters of Tuscan products. The selection varies with the season but typically includes bruschetta with the estate's organic extra virgin olive oil, local Pecorino cheeses, and Tuscan cured meats like Prosciutto Toscano and finocchiona. The tasting concludes with artisan cantucci served with the Passito wine.
Children are welcome to join the tour and will be served the same food selection with fresh water. The winery garden also has a dedicated play area with swings.
