About Winery and Wines

The Accattoli company was founded in 1958, when my father and his three brothers started building a small cellar at Montefiore, a charming villa near Recanati dominated by an imposing tower, which is still the distinguishing feature of our logo today. In 1983 my father bought out the company, since he was the only one who had always dedicated himself passionately to the product. In 1990, after I finished my studies in accountancy, I immediately entered the company, not because it held any special interest but because I wanted to start working. Then as the years passed, and with the help of my many friends, I began to love this work. I took a masters degree in oenology in order to increase my competence in creating both a living and fascinating product. When my father finally retired, I felt the need for someone to work with in order to compare ideas and experiences and so in 2002 I decided to employ the current oenologist. It was an important step since I decided to stake everything on quality. In fact quality is my aim and that of my sister Katia who has also been working in the firm for many years. Quality and valuation of the terroir where every wine has its own identity card that tells us where it comes from, the vine type, the characteristics of the grape as well as the respect for the workers who pick the grapes and transform them in the winery under the guidance of the oenologist. We have the job of enjoying and discovering this sweet nectar and of observing this marvellous spectacle. The wines are many – Rosso del Monte, Turrito, Lacrima, Il Poggio Infinito, Verdicchio, Pecorino, Chardonnay, Antheo, Colle Rosa, Prosecco and Grappa – but each with their own personality.
