Weingut Karl Heinz Schnabl
About the Winery
Weingut KHS is a family-run winery with a history spanning four generations, located in Wielandsthal, in Austria’s Traisental wine region.
With 4.2 hectares of vineyards, the estate is planted with three-quarters white grape varieties and one-quarter red, all thriving in a unique microclimate shaped by the nearby Danube River. This small but ideal climate zone, combined with gravelly hillside soils, offers excellent conditions for producing clean, expressive wines. The Schnabl family’s deep-rooted passion for viticulture, handed down through generations, ensures a balance of tradition and care in every aspect of the winemaking process. From vineyard to cellar, every step is guided by family experience and love for the land.
At Weingut KHS, visitors can experience the warmth of Austrian hospitality and the authenticity of handcrafted wines from a region rich in character.
About the Wines
The wine portfolio of Weingut KHS reflects the diversity and quality of the Traisental region, focusing on both white and red varietals. The white wine selection includes Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Weißburgunder (Pinot Blanc), and Chardonnay — all showing vibrant freshness and mineral clarity thanks to the gravel soils and ideal microclimate. On the red side, Blauburger, Zweigelt, and Blauer Portugieser showcase the winery’s commitment to elegance and varietal purity. Each wine is crafted with care and precision to express the authentic taste of the land. Whether you prefer crisp whites or smooth, approachable reds, the wines from Weingut KHS offer a true taste of Lower Austria's winemaking heritage — perfect for both everyday enjoyment and special occasions.
