Weingut Kitla
About the Winery
Weingut Kitla is a family-run winery located in Jetzelsdorf, in the Weinviertel region of Lower Austria, where we cultivate 17 hectares of vineyards with a strong commitment to sustainability. Working in harmony with nature, we avoid herbicides and insecticides, relying instead on pheromone-based pest control, compost, and organic fertilizers to strengthen our vines.
This unique area around Haugsdorf/Jetzelsdorf is known as a small “red wine island” within the predominantly white wine region of Weinviertel. Thanks to our diverse soils and favorable conditions, we are able to produce a wide range of wines, combining regional typicity with versatility. Our philosophy is simple: respect nature, care for the vineyard, and let the terroir express itself authentically in every bottle.
About the Wines
The wines of Weingut Kitla reflect the diversity of the Weinviertel terroir, ranging from fresh and aromatic whites to structured reds. Among the white wines, we produce Grüner Veltliner, the emblematic variety of the region, alongside Sauvignon Blanc, Müller-Thurgau, Chardonnay, and Riesling, as well as more structured expressions like Weinviertel DAC Reserve.
The red wines benefit from the unique microzone, offering styles from light and fruity rosé to classic varieties such as Blauer Portugieser and Zweigelt, up to more powerful and full-bodied wines like Rösler and Cabernet Sauvignon. Each wine is crafted to highlight varietal character, balance, and drinkability, expressing both tradition and the individuality of our vineyards.
