A Taste of Amarone – Half-Day Wine Tour from Verona

Your half-day tour into Valpolicella Classica begins in Verona, where you'll meet your sommelier tour leader. From there, you'll travel along the Valpolicella Wine Road, taking in the landscape of vine-covered hills that has been shaped by winemaking since Roman times.

The first part of the itinerary is a visit to one of the area's historic villages. Depending on the day, you might stop in San Giorgio di Valpolicella, recognized as one of Italy's most beautiful hamlets, or in Marano, which offers views over the entire valley. Here, you'll have time to see local landmarks like the archaeological site of the Temple of Minerva or the Church of Santa Maria in Valverde.

The tour then continues to a local winery, where you will learn about the wine production process and have the opportunity to ask questions about the estate and its methods. You will then taste prestigious Valpolicella DOC and DOCG wines, including Valpolicella, Ripasso, Amarone, and Recioto. The tasting setting varies according to the selected producer but generally takes place in a dedicated tasting room or on the winery’s terrace.
