Discover the world of salt in the Castro Marim salt pan, taste the flower of salt, the purest crystals, the first layer that forms on the surface of the salt pan. Delicate and with a unique flavor, help yourself to the salt marsh and taste it with the best products of the Algarve.
The experience begins with a visit to the saltern with historical and social framing of the salt pans of Castro Marim, followed by salt harvesting, (in-season action), or an example of how the extraction is done, explaining the process from the ocean to the salt pan (out-of-season action).
Next, you'll enjoy a salt tasting accompanied by local tomato and fresh cheese, cockle (or another bivalve), shrimp or prawn popcorn. At the end, a rich fish soup, fresh fruit, and fig brandy will be served.
All the tasting will be accompanied by white wine.
