Here is what's in store for you
TerraQuilia is a young winery nestled in the Apennines between Modena and Bologna, in the Emilia-Romagna region. Their vineyards are located between 500 and 750 meters above sea level and they focus on sparkling and spumante wines both produced by the ancient Ancestral Method, without the addition of must or yeast, as well as producing still wines. All TerraQuilia wines are unfiltered, have a free SO2 level lower than 30 mg/ l, are certified organic, and vegan.
Weather permitting, your experience will start with a walk through the wonderful vineyards of TerraQuilia, exploring the soils, slopes, views, breezes, and microclimate. There's no better start to the experience than to fully understand the importance of being rooted in this specific land.
Then the experience continues in the winery, visiting the winemaking, bottling, storage, and aging rooms where you will discover the production philosophy of the winery and the ancestral method.
This is followed by a tasting of 3 of the winery's most representative wines:
- TERREBIANCHE col Fondo, Bottle-fermented, with its own natural sediment. Pignoletto with small amount of Trebbiano. Crisp acidity. citrus, herbs. Revitalizing
- NATIVO ANCESTRALE Bottle-fermented, Pignoletto disgorged with a small amount of sparkling white Trebbiano with hints of honey and lavender, intense stone fruit flavor, crisp, balanced by a distinct refreshing acidity. Long and mineral finish
- FALCONERO Zero Re-fermented in the bottle, disgorged, Lambrusco Grasparossa with Malbo Gentile cut, red vinification with fermentation on the skins. Hints of ripe red fruit, walnut husk, and black pepper
The tasting will be accompanied by a small selection of typical products from the area: Salame Gentile produced with TerraQuilia's wine by a local artisan, Prosciutto di Modena DOP, Parmigiano Reggiano 24 months, Grissini, and Tigelle Montanare (local flatbreads).
