Grand Tasting of 6 Ribera del Duero Wines at Bosque de Matasnos
Here is what's in store for you
You will arrive at Bosque de Matasnos, a family-owned estate set at nearly 1,000 meters above sea level within a private 220-hectare forest. The winery is completely self-sufficient, generating its own electricity and drawing its own water.
A member of the wine tourism team will welcome you and lead a walk through the estate's high-altitude vineyards, followed by a visit to the winery and the barrel-aging cellar. You will learn about the project's environmental philosophy and the winemaking techniques that define their wines.
The visit concludes in El Txoko de Matasnos, a wooden hall with an open kitchen and long communal benches overlooking the forest. Here, you will taste six estate wines.
The tasting includes three signature labels: the white Petit de Matasnos (Chardonnay, Viognier, Verdejo), and the reds Capote (Tempranillo) and Bosque de Matasnos Etiqueta Blanca (Tempranillo, Merlot, Malbec). These are served alongside three limited-production wines, selected based on current availability.
To complement the wines, you will be served artisan products made on the estate, including cheese from their own sheep's milk and Iberian specialties like cured loin and chorizo from their free-range pigs.
