Cantina Mariotti: Discovering Sand Wines in Po Delta

Immerse yourself in the authentic winemaking heritage of the Ferrara province. Located in the flatlands of Consandolo (Argenta), within the protected ecosystem of the Po Delta Park Biosphere, Cantina Mariotti invites you to an exclusive 'emotional' tasting experience that bridges history, geology, and passion.

Our winery, founded in 1976 by Giorgio Mariotti and carried forward by his children Mirco and Barbara, is a proud pioneer and champion of the Bosco Eliceo DOC. During this experience, you will discover the secrets of the 'Vini delle Sabbie' (Wines of the Sands). Our vineyards thrive less than a kilometer from the Adriatic coast on deep sandy soils. Because of this unique terroir, our vines—some over a century old—are planted on their original rootstock ('piede franco'), surviving the phylloxera epidemic that rewrote European wine history.

Your visit will include a guided exploration of our production and storage areas, followed by a curated tasting of our most representative labels. You will experience the ancestral method of bottle-refermented sparkling wines ('rifermentati in bottiglia'), such as our vibrant Smarazen (Trebbiano and Malvasia blend) or the deep, rustic soul of our Sèt e mèz and Surliè! (expressions of the native Fortana grape, locally called Uva d’Oro).

To perfectly complement the high acidity and savory, marine notes of our wines, the tasting features small platters of carefully portioned cold local delicacies, including traditional cold cuts (salumi), regional cheeses, and traditional baked goods.
