Chianti in a glass: Wine tasting experience at Poggi del Chianti Winery

I will guide you on a tour of "Poggi del Chianti Winery", a XIX century farm where my family and I produce organic wines and extra virgin olive oil. The winery is located between the villages of Cavriglia and Gaiole in Chianti, upon the Morellino hill, about 1 hour from Florence, Siena, and Arezzo.

The experience is organized in 2 parts: first, you will enjoy an “educative” walk around the property. The tour will take you from the outside to the inside of the winery, focusing on the winemaking processes and the Tuscan traditions. You will have the opportunity to see the vineyards, olive groves, and cypresses that Tuscany is famous for. We then visit the old-fashioned boutique winery.

At the end of the visit, you'll enjoy a tasting of our Poggio del Chianti wines paired with some seasonal and local snacks. The experience includes a tasting of 5 wines between white, rosé, Chianti, Chianti Classico, and Supertuscan, as well as our extra virgin olive oil. The wines will be paired with products like bruschetta, cold cuts, and cheeses. The tasting part will be fun and casual, not technical.

My name is Mirko, I was raised here in Tuscany upon the Chianti Mountains, across vineyards and olives groove, as if I was destined to become a winemaker. I studied Architecture and Industrial design, I love all the Arts, and I care about ecology and sustainability. My mother tongue is Italian, but I also speak English.
