Classic Tasting of Native Umbrian Grapes at Bussoletti in San Gemini
Here is what's in store for you
In the Bussoletti estate's wine shop, you'll be welcomed by Martina from the winery's hospitality team. She will introduce you to Leonardo Bussoletti’s winemaking vision, centered on the unique character of Umbria's native grape varieties.
Your tasting explores five wines, beginning with two whites that showcase the region's terroir. You'll sample a ColleOzio, made from 100% Grechetto, and a ColleMurello from 100% Trebbiano Spoletino grapes. The experience then moves to three distinct interpretations of Ciliegiolo, a signature red grape for the winery. You will taste the Asla, a young steel-aged red; the Brecciaro, a more structured version aged in both steel and large French oak; and the Ràmici, a single-vineyard Ciliegiolo from sandy soils.
To accompany the wines, you can add a platter of local products. The first option includes certified organic artisanal pecorino cheese and traditional cured meats like salami. A larger board is also available, which adds Umbrian fried specialities and a trio of local legumes.
