Hands-on Grape Harvest and Tasting at Colle Petrito in Minervino Murge
Here is what's in store for you
In the heart of Puglia's Castel del Monte DOC region, Serena and her husband welcome you to Colle Petrito for their educational grape harvest, held during the first weeks of September. They will guide you personally throughout the entire experience.
The day begins with an easy 2-3 km walk through the vineyards, where you'll learn about the harvest traditions before picking grapes by hand. The experience continues with traditional grape stomping in large wooden vats. Afterward, Serena and her husband will lead you on a tour of the winery, explaining the journey from grape reception to fermentation and production.
The final stop is the tasting area, either on the terrace or in the tasting room. Here you'll have a guided tasting of two Colle Petrito wines, selected based on your preferences. You can choose from white, red, rosé, or sparkling wines made from native Apulian varieties like Fiano, Falanghina, Nero di Troia, and Primitivo. The tasting is paired with a selection of local products, including olives, taralli, prosciutto, and traditional focaccia barese. For younger participants, the winery organizes sensory workshops to explore the aromas and colors of the harvest, followed by a tasting of focaccia barese.
