Ich heiße Martina und bin zwischen dem Val d'Orcia, einem UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe, und dem Valdichiana, das für sein Chianina-Rindfleisch bekannt ist, geboren und aufgewachsen. Seit 2016 führe ich die Familientradition des Wein- und Olivenölanbaus fort, indem ich den Hof vergrößere und um agrartouristische Aktivitäten ergänze. Lignanello umfasst 5 Hektar, davon 1,5 Hektar Weinberge, die hauptsächlich mit Sangiovese, aber auch mit Merlot, Syrah, Trebbiano und Malvasia bepflanzt sind. Wir sind ein kleiner Erzeuger, der jährlich etwa 5.500 Flaschen abfüllt und sich auf Qualität und biologische Methoden konzentriert.

Fabbrica ist ein zukunftsorientiertes Weingut im Herzen des Val d'Orcia, Pienza, umgeben von 35 Hektar biologisch bewirtschafteten Weinbergen. Diese malerische Gegend in der südlichen Toskana, nicht weit vom Monte Amiata entfernt, bietet ein einzigartiges Terroir aus Kalkstein- und Lehmböden, das ideal für die Erzeugung außergewöhnlicher Weine ist. Während der Sangiovese die Weinberge dominiert, pflanzt Fabbrica auch Syrah und eine Mischung aus internationalen weißen Rebsorten an und setzt damit neue Maßstäbe in dieser aufstrebenden Weinregion. Im Jahr 2020 begann ein neues Kapitel bei Fabbrica, als der renommierte Winzer Tim Manning das Weingut übernahm und seinen minimalistischen, natürlichen Ansatz bei der Weinherstellung einbrachte. Beeinflusst von seinen Erfahrungen auf renommierten Weingütern wie Domaine Dujac in Burgund und Cristom in Oregon setzt Manning auf eine langsame, natürliche Gärung mit einheimischen Hefen, eine lange Mazeration und den Ausbau in Zementfässern und großen Eichenfässern. Seine Leidenschaft für die handwerkliche Mikrovinifikation führt zu Weinen, die die Reinheit der Rebsorten der Region verkörpern und eine frische, aufregende Interpretation der toskanischen Weinbautraditionen bieten. The Tuscan landscape is ‘par excellence’ a series of views from the Val d’Orcia: it was also given an award on the UNESCO heritage list in 2004. Here the land itself becomes a concept, a lifestyle, a living breath that throughout the centuries has seen man reproducing on this ground the perfect proportions and the harmonies of the Italian Renaissance. Within the highly prestigious wine-growing districts of Montalcino, Montepulciano and Pienza there is a line that runs between the small medieval villages of Petroio and Castelmuzio: halfway up this road, beside the chapel of the Madonna del Parto with its cypress trees, begins one of those white tracks, which trace the Tuscan countryside . This is the road that leads to the entrance of Podere Albiano. Images which overlap, changing, twisting, shimmering: the same place but a different season. Just like the wines which share their birth in this land. The plants, the vineyards and the wineries are there, but every year there’s something different: men and events are the unpredictable elements that make out of each individual bottle something which is unique and never repeatable. This is the terroir. Some use the Latin term of ‘genius loci’, but we think of it like the wine’s sixth sense,: the location and formation, the climate, the grape varieties, and moreover the constant labour in the vineyard and in the wine cellar... all of these elements together are what makes THIS wine different from any other wine in the world. And this is what inspires us, and drives to bring this wine to you.
