Tenuta La Viola

Tenuta La Viola, owned by the Gabellini family, is a historic winery located in Bertinoro, Emilia-Romagna, established in 1962. Spanning 23 hectares of vineyards, originally planted with Sangiovese and Albana, the winery is deeply rooted in tradition. Since 1999, it has been certified organic and has recently embraced biodynamic practices.

The family moved from Romagna's hinterland in 1962 and purchased land with Sangiovese and Albana vineyards, originally cultivated using the alberello system. Deeply rooted in the local peasant tradition, wine was always seen as more than just a food — it symbolized community and shared pride in the land. The winery has been certified organic since 1999, and since 2018, has incorporated biodynamic practices. The grapes are harvested by hand, and the family’s dedication to sustainable farming ensures that each bottle reflects the unique character and natural balance of the land.

Tenuta La Viola specializes in producing wines that capture the essence of Romagna's terroir, from elegant Sangiovese to vibrant Albana. Each wine is crafted with care, highlighting the unique characteristics of the region's indigenous grape varieties. The winery’s commitment to organic practices ensures that the wines are expressive and sustainably produced.

Among their offerings, "P.Honorii" stands out as their flagship wine, while "Il Colombarone" is the most representative, embodying the elegance and hospitality of the region. With an annual production of 60,000 bottles, Tenuta La Viola’s wines offer a true taste of Romagna.
