Distillation discovery at Mazzetti d'Altavilla
Here is what's in store for you
After your arrival, you'll be led by the guide to the distillery to learn about the various stages of production, breathing in the scents and emotions. The tour will continue inside the evocative ageing barrique cellar to discover the barrels made of precious woods in which the fine distillate rests to give unique poems to the senses and then pass through the exciting "Grappa Gallery", an artistic display of historic bottles of spirits.
The tour will end inside the Grappa Store, a fascinating underground cellar where, in a welcoming environment, you will take part in a sensory tasting of typical Grappas, Distillates, Liqueurs, Brandy and even Fruit in Liqueur and other sins of gluttony. In addition, you can access the Votive Chapel "La Rotonda", a splendid architectural jewel, still consecrated, dating back to 1808 and located in the park of the Magione Mazzetti d'Altavilla and the photographic exhibition "Il Monferrato nello Spirito".

Getting to know grappa
The visit actually focused on the production of grappas, masterfully led by qualified staff who showed us all the production steps and answered all the curious questions from us visitors.
The time dedicated to the visit was sufficient to understand and appreciate the work behind an excellent Italian product, managed today by the heirs of the founding grandfather.
I recommend this experience, preferably to be had during the September/October period, when the pomace, the essential element of grappa, arrives at the distillery.
