I really love their wine, folks are nice, right in town so it's easy to get to and there's lots if stuff nearby

We are from Richmond and drive to Staunton just to enjoy the wine and atmosphere. We love the sweet table on the brick patio on nice evenings but have enjoyed the upstairs lounge area with lovely artwork from locals. The owners are wonderfully hospitable.

Horrible customer service. Beware if you come with more than 3 people, they'll likely get flustered on how to serve you. We happened to stop by and when we saw it said groups of 6 or more required a reservation, we broke up our group of 12 into three groups of four for tastings. When you walk in, they require you to put your name on a list to do the tasting. We told the woman that we had three groups of four and she told us she wouldn't be able to accommodate us because they required reservations for groups that large. We said that wasn't a problem because we were fine with doing separate tastings of four people each and would even break down into couples if that was easier. The woman was rude and essentially told us if we came back in the future with a group that large without reservations, we would be turned away. She then told us to wait outside in the cold (even though they had a sitting area inside where another couple was waiting), and she would see what she could do. Needless to say we didn't do a tasting and will not be returning. We would have been a little more understanding had we gone on a nice day in the spring or summer and they were busy, but this place wasn't busy at all at the time. As someone who has gone to almost all of the wineries in the Charlottesville area with groups big and small during busy spring days and cold winter days, I've never received such rude service.

Such a beautiful place!!! 360 degree views of the mountains. The wines were dry...to my liking, although they had some sweeter and off-dry ones, too. The staff was delightfully friendly and knowledgeable. We brought cheese an charcuterie and enjoyed it on the beautiful terrace with a nice wine. Truth be told, we then relaxed in Adirondack chairs, and just might have dozed off, relaxed by a bit of wine, food, the sun, a delightful breeze and spectacular vista. Hard to know which way to face your chair! My new favorite winery!!!

A stunning setting; chose to visit Afton Mountain as one of the few wineries we could spend time at during our weekend get-away to the region, even though it meant driving a bit further. We planned to wrap up the day with their evening concert event

Mediocre tasting experience, staff basically poured the wine, said

Unprofessional and rude. The brunette server with glasses stopped servicing our group mid tasting to talk to someone else for 15 minutes while we just stood there waiting. No I'm sorry, excuse me, no nothing. Abandoned us on two separate occasions for other parties. Didn't give us our glasses at the end of the tasting. Seemed clueless about the vineyard policies on glasses with tastings. Just down the road you have several vineyards that provide much better service and glasses. I had planned on purchasing a few bottles, like i did from veritas and few others but due to the rude treatment I won't be recommending this vineyard to any of my friends. Come for the views if you must but avoid if you like good service. One star for location.
