Le Ragnaie è un luogo speciale. Un pittoresco casale in pietra, dove tutto è pacifico e rilassante, a 10 minuti dal centro di Montalcino. Stanze ampie, accoglienti, pulite e arredate con grande gusto. Colazione ricca e sana. Giardino panoramico e piscina. Accoglienza e servizio impeccabili. Ottimo rapporto qualità / prezzo.

Not a pleasant experience at all. We were doing a road-trip around the country side of the beautiful Tuscany this Easter. Montalcino was one the most important stops of our trip and we really wanted to spend a night in the rural area of Montalcino to fully enjoy the scents and flavours of the land. On paper Le Ragnaie looks like what we were looking for. We booked a double room for one night one month in advance using one of the most popular on-line booking system. We arrived at Le Ragnaie in the afternoon and we were welcomed at the reception by a young lady who told us that they had no room available. We complained and showed her the print out of our valid reservation. She started speaking to us in an quite aggressive and laud tone of voice denying responsibilities but also admitting that she advertises rooms in more than one website. We tried to keep calm and analyse the situation but she was't incline to accept responsibilities over this situation. In a very rude way, she tried to impose us to take a room in another hotel known by her. At first she didn't give us any detail about the hotel where she wanted to send us - we felt treated like parcels delivered to the wrong recipient. After refusing to change hotel without knowing more about it, she reluctantly told us that we had no choice as that was the only available room in Montalcino on that day.
