5 Spectacular wine tour and tasting! (Giuseppe)Just a short cab ride from the port, this winery is well worth the visit. We had a personal tour from the owner as well as an intimate wine tasting with lots of local small bites! The truffle also and three hour old cheese were so delicious. Extremely good wines! Shipped home several bottles. The grounds also feature suite rentals. Stunning grounds, too!

4 A big Winery in Salento ()Masseria Maimè is part of the Tormaresca company which also has the mouth of a wolf in Puglia where a great Aglianico wine is produced. Masseria Maimè, located near San Pietro Vernotico, produces all the wines from native vines of Salento such as Negroamaro, Primitivo, Fiano. It is a modern and tecnological winery, with many acres of vine around. In the subsurface there is a very large barrel where, at controlled temperature and humidity, the wines are aged in barrels and in barrels. Visiting it was a wonderful experience and in addition to tasting their wines we did a mini tasting course with an expert sommelier. Masseria Maime is an innovative winery born from an idea of the Antinori Holding.
