Armide - Sorelle Carmignani
Sobre la Bodega
Armide is a small family-run winery in the hills of Montecarlo, Tuscany, born from a passion for wine passed down through generations. The winery was officially founded in 2024 by Beatrice Carmignani, a winemaker and native of Montecarlo, but its roots go back to 1972, when her grandfather Armindo planted the vineyard that the family still cultivates today.
Beatrice dedicated the winery to her grandfather Armindo and to her sister Chiara, her lifelong companion and now part of the family project. Together, the Carmignani family looks after the vineyard and carries forward a deeply artisanal approach focused on expressing the character of the local territory.
With an annual production of fewer than 2,000 bottles, Armide is a true micro-winery where every stage of production is carried out with close attention and predominantly by hand. Its small scale allows the family to create distinctive wines while preserving the intimate connection between vineyard, vintage, and family tradition.
Sobre los Vinos
The wines of Armide are produced in extremely limited quantities and include red, white, sparkling, rosé, and passito styles, combining traditional local grape varieties with different artisanal winemaking techniques.
Armide Rosso is produced mainly from Sangiovese, complemented by other varieties traditionally grown in the area. Fermentation takes place in concrete tanks, followed by aging in barrels and bottles. Fewer than 900 bottles are produced each year.
Armide Bianco, made from Trebbiano and Vermentino, is vinified in stainless steel and subsequently refined in the bottle. Armide Spumante is produced from Verdea and undergoes a second fermentation in the bottle, with the natural sediment remaining inside to give the wine its distinctive character.
The tiny production also includes Armide Rosé, made from Moscato and characterized by its pale color and expressive fruity aromas, and Armide Passito, produced according to a process inspired by traditional Vin Santo. The grapes are dried naturally before vinification, after which the wine matures in small barrels for approximately three to four years.
Together, these wines reflect Armide's philosophy of small-scale production, craftsmanship, family heritage, and a strong connection to the hills of Montecarlo.
