Sobre la bodega y los vinos

Tenuta La Meirana was born at the dawn of Gavi's history.

In fact, as shown by the document preserved in the State Archives of Genoa, the name Meirana is mentioned in a rental contract, dated 972 AD.

Meirana is still found today in the heart of this territory and represents the oldest link to it.

Coincidence has it that a thousand years later, in 1972, Bruno Broglia purchased the estate.

Subsequently, at the beginning of the 1980s, the cellar was expanded and renovated.

In those years it was decided to use only stainless steel tanks, in order to enhance the best characteristics of Gavi: freshness, flavor and minerality.

This was an avant-garde choice in an era in which only concrete tanks and wooden barriques were used.

Even today their foresight is rewarded: Broglia is recognized as a reference company in the area and synonymous with high quality.

Today the company is led by the third generation: Roberto and Filippo, sons of Piero and Bruno, son of Paolo; all born and raised in Gavi, breathing the atmosphere of this land of wine since they were children.

Broglia's Gavi di Gavi wines are recognized worldwide for their exceptional quality. Thanks to their elegance and mineral notes, they have a unique style, and have become a benchmark of quality for other Gavi producers. Our wines come from the vineyards of the "La Meirana" estate, which are the oldest in Gavi, dating back to 972 AD. Today, "La Meirana" is the largest property in the appellation, with over 70 hectares all planted with the cortese grape variety. Nowadays, the third generation of the Broglia family continues this important tradition, with a keen eye on innovation and sustainability
