Podere Panta Rei
Sobre la bodega y los vinos
Nestled in the heart of Terricciola, in the enchanting region known as the Colline Pisane, Podere Panta Rei is more than a vineyard—it's a living expression of the land’s rich winemaking tradition. Just a short drive from Pisa and Volterra, our estate spans five hectares of vineyards and two thriving olive groves. This is a land where wine has always been part of home, and where we are proud to carry that legacy forward.
At Podere Panta Rei, our mission is straightforward: to cultivate the land with care and craft wines that reflect their origin. Winemaking, for us, is a joyful pursuit—where imagination, passion, tradition, and innovation come together.
We adopt an artisanal approach, grounded in respect for nature and the distinct character of our microclimate. We work with organic practices, rotating natural fertilisers, and carefully managing the land to preserve its vitality. Every choice we make—whether in the vineyard or the cellar—is aimed at enhancing the expression of the territory, the vine, and the vintage.
Our wines are a reflection of place, crafted through natural vinification methods that prioritise the health and complete ripening of the grapes. We ferment our musts using only native yeasts, with extended macerations on the skins, allowing the territory to express itself through texture, aroma, and soul.
Our current varieties include Sangiovese, Ciliegiolo, Colorino, and Merlot. And more recently, we added Foglia Tonda and Viognier to our vineyard. Fermentation occurs in a combination of steel, cement, and terracotta vats. Depending on the wine, ageing continues in cement tanks, oak barriques and tonneaux, or terracotta amphorae—each vessel chosen to bring out the best in every vintage.
At Podere Panta Rei, every wine is a chapter in a story written by our land, our hands, and our choices. We produce wines with character—honest, expressive, and deeply rooted in the Colline Pisane.
Sangiovese
Our flagship grape,
Ciliegiolo
typical grape of the Pisan hills often used in blends with Sangiovese
Colorino
Known for its intense colour and rustic charm, Colorino is bold and untamed. It brings depth and complexity, often blended in small quantities to add backbone and mystery to our reds.
Merlot
grapes that find the right habitat here and are perfect for Super Tuscans
Foglia Tonda
An ancient Tuscan variety, rediscovered. Foglia Tonda brings energy, acidity, and red berry vibrance. We are excited to release our first vintage soon—a wine that reconnects us with forgotten traditions.
Viognier
Viognier, with its exotic fruit and floral elegance, is a grape that allows us to produce aromatic wines without the use of technology.
Vinification Philosophy
We ferment using indigenous yeasts, allowing spontaneous fermentation in steel, cement, and terracotta vats. Ageing is carefully tailored: some wines rest in concrete tanks, others in oak barrels (barriques or tonneaux), and the most soulful in terracotta amphorae. Each vessel is carefully selected to enhance the natural voice of the grape.
