Essence of Monferrato: A Sensory Wine Experience at Cantine Vida
Here is what's in store for you
An engaging journey through the heart of Monferrato, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most prestigious regions for Barbera wines. Visitors are welcomed into a family-run environment at Cantine VIDA, where warmth, passion, and authenticity meet. Guided by an AIS Sommelier, guests embark on a multisensory experience reflecting the winery’s philosophy — vibrant, high-quality wines crafted with deep respect for the land.
The visit begins with a warm welcome from Stefania and Gaia, either in the tasting room or among the vineyards, accompanied by a glass of chilled Barbera red. During this introduction, the Sommelier, also the owner, shares the fascinating history of Cantine VIDA, founded in 1917, with stories that blend science, culture, and daily life on this land.
The guided tour continues through the vinification and aging areas, including both the new and historic cellars. Guests learn about the estate’s production methods and taste a Barbera Superiore directly from the cask — a rare opportunity to experience a wine in its aging phase.
The tasting follows in an elegant space, featuring four wines – including Grignolino d’Asti DOC, Barbera d’Asti DOCG, and Monferrato DOC Rosso – paired with local specialties. The Sommelier guides guests through visual, olfactory, and gustatory analysis, deepening appreciation for each varietal and its pairings.
The experience concludes with a final toast in the tasting room or the garden overlooking the vineyards. Each guest receives a personalized tasting sheet and has the opportunity to purchase wines at a special rate reserved for participants.
