First, we appreciate Windering for providing easier access to the winery because we were unsure about booking. Second, the people, place, and wine are so unbelievably underrated. It's f****** stupid how good the wine is :-) The view is unreal, and if you're into wine dogs, Bacchus rules! The people are simply lovely. Request food, olive oil, water and just relax, settle in and take a breath. Ora, 360, Paolina, Mio, Granaio... They're all fantastic. We ordered, re-ordered from the US, and will do so again soon. We had a group of 19 people for wine tasting at Savignola Paolina it was so good the wine and tasting plate of cheese and salami was excellent

Driving to this beautiful estate is a journey in itself as the road winds through beautiful fields. Our hostess was kind and patient with all of our questions. After our generous tasting, we sat on patio admiring the stunning views and enjoying a charcuterie board with local treats.

An additional bonus was the sweet dog named for the god of wine. After being gone for almost two weeks, our teens were able to get some furry love.
I really enjoyed the classic Chianti, Ora, as well as their olive oil.

A little piece of paradise

It’s a little pretentious for me to review Savignola Paolina. I am simply lost for words to describe this little piece of paradise in the middle Chianti. We were greeted and hosted by Elizabeth, an Austrian student studying wine making interning at Savignola Paolina. She is very knowledgeable to say the least (we are from Napa area.). With only 5 hector acres Savignola Paolina is a gem of a boutique winery. The current owner, Luzius, a Swiss industrialist, bought it from Paolina several years and continues to grow outstanding Sangiovese grapes. We tasted three Chiantis and my favorite is the 2019 Paolina.

Besides their wines, the owner’s dwelling, the wine vault, the kitchen, and the office, complex is a postcard perfect Italian villa. They also offer Airbnb as an option to those who want to stay there longer (only if we had known)..

We will definitely want come back to this little piece of paradise and will stay longer the next time.

It was a joyful experience, The place is lovely and all the people were very friendly and helpful.
Not to mention the amazing wine. :)
Maybe during the tour, they could explain in more detail the history of the family and make the people visualize how it turned into what it is today.

La degustazione a Savignola Paolina è stata un’immersione nella storia di Paolina una donna all’avanguardia che ha lasciato un’impronta personalissima all’Azienda che nonostante sia attiva nel commercio nazionale conserva la sua familiarità che la rende accogliente unica e con un’intima ospitalità. Consiglio a tutti vivamente di sperimentare !

My friends are new in the wine-tasting work and this was the perfect first tasting. Firstly, the location was absolutely stunning and peaceful. Secondly, everyone was so kind and knowledgeable, made us feel so welcome. It was interesting to hear about the history of the winery as well as the process of making their wines. We had the opportunity to try four types of wine (which is good considering the cheaper price of this wine tasting) and they were all great. Our favourite being the Paulina, named after one of the original owners of the winery. The winery was smaller that others in the area but we all felt like that gave it a certain charm.
We would definitely consider doing the lunch and wine tasting if we’re ever in Tuscany again!
Everything was perfect!
