Vineyard Tour & Nobile di Montepulciano Tasting with Snacks at La Combarbia
Here is what's in store for you
Your visit to La Combarbia, just a short drive from the center of Montepulciano, begins in the estate's vineyards. Your host, Gabriele or another member of the team, will welcome you and guide you on a walk among the vines, explaining their sustainable farming practices and how the area's specific microclimate shapes the wines.
The tour continues inside the winery, where you'll follow the journey of the grapes from selection and fermentation through to the aging rooms. The experience culminates in the barrel room for a guided tasting of five of the estate's most representative wines, served with breadsticks and crackers. You will sample a flight that showcases the territory, including:
- IGT Rosso: a pure Sangiovese not aged in oak.
- ICS Rosso IGT: a blend of 70% Cabernet and 30% Sangiovese.
- Rosso di Montepulciano DOC: made from 80% Sangiovese with local grapes Mammolo and Canaiolo.
- Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG: a 100% Sangiovese that defines the appellation.
- Old Vintage Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG: a special historic vintage of 100% Sangiovese, selected at the producer's discretion.
Water is available, and for younger visitors, a small station with drawing materials is provided.
