Our aim is to enhance the identity intrinsic to this hill. Our wines – Rosanita, Gianciotto, Saiano and Montebello – come from the Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes we grow. The vines grow in a clayey, calcareous soil with streaks of gypsum and a south-eastern exposure. Tenuta-Saiano-cantina_vendemmiaTenuta-Saiano-cantina4Tenuta-Saiano-cantina3Tenuta-Saiano-cantina We harvest the grapes at the end of summer, when they are plump and ripe. They are all picked by hand and then taken to the winery, crushed and left to vinify in temperature-controlled steel tanks so that all the quality and natural goodness of the grape are exalted. When that has happened, the wine is poured into barrels and left to age before being bottled. Every drop of wine comes from grapes we ourselves grow in the traditional way and in keeping with all the regulations governing the production and processing of grapes. The winery has a large room ideal for wine tastings and educational tours. There is also a small shop that sells the farm’s products.

In a beautiful setting of well-finished vineyards, in Camerano at the foot of the Poggio Berni hills, we find the Case Marcosanti farm housing the eponymous Winery. The estate covers about 10 hectares up to the banks of the river “Uso” and it is mostly filled with vine varieties of the winery Case Marcosanti. Pompeo Marcosanti, Esq., founded the company in the mid-nineteenth century. His love for the earth and its fruits, and his great intuition brought him to come into possession of farms surrounding a group of houses that, from that time, will be known as “Case Marcosanti”: where the river “Uso” meets the Camerano Church and a building called "Villa". Intuition and love that, since 1948, are kept alive by the family Antoniacci. The "Villa" and the modern winery are the core business with our production philosophy that is concentrated in the enhancement of local wines; that's why our project is aimed at producing grapes of the most authentic tradition of Romagna: first of all the Sangiovese, symbol of the wine culture of our region. But also historic vines, such as Trebbiano and Albana di Romagna, standard-bearer of our white wines, do not miss.

Over his winemaking project Davide Bigucci, more and more intrigued by the biodynamic philosophy, has been developing a peculiar interest for the vinification in amphorae. Captivated by this ancient winemaking art which dates back to the dim and distant past he committed himself to study and research. His experience has lead him to produce a white wine the Rebola gained from a highly suitable indigenous vine. Carefully selected grapes are destemmed and gently pressed; the must is then kept over some months in huge terracotta amphorae from Georgia enhancing through skin maceration the character and soul of the wine as well as fully preserving the essence of this terroir. This is the first result of Davide’s work and of his commitment to a wineaking style that shall harmoniously link man to soil through a prestigious wine, a wine that let us into the soul of this outstanding strip of land named Romagna.

In the late '50s Battista Cecchini moved from Montescudo, his birth village, to Coriano in an 8 hectares overgrown farm with 200 olive trees. He molded his idea with tenacity and effort, turning that wild land into vineyards, choosing the most appropriate vine varieties for that specific area. In the '80s the management is transferred to his son Silvano (current owner), who in a few years turned the production from cask wine in fine wines in the bottle. In the last few years Luca, Silvano's son and young winemaker, has brought in our wines some openness and innovation, blending tradition and technical skills. The name Valle delle Lepri, in English Hares' Valley, comes out from a project by Silvano, to preserve and protect the hares in this area. More than 6 hectares of the vineyard are fenced and used for the adaptation and repopulation of this animal. This selfless love for nature led Silvano into a more precise viticulture, turning his farm in 1992 in an organic winery. Since then we defend our plants from diseases only through sulfur and copper, absolutely with no pesticides or synthetic products, grassing the entire rows and doing the pruning and harvesting just by hand. These specific cares keep luxuriant the flora and fauna in the valley and help us to give you genuine wines with strong personality. In wine cellar Luca Cecchini (winemaker-oenologist) is oriented (oenologist) to a biodynamic concept, using a few concentrations of sulfites and yeast from our own vineyards, which blended with very low physical interventions make you to taste our country and our passion for vineyards, and let us to respect the vintages' diversity.

Remigio Bordini. THE HISTORY OF THE SANTINI ESTATE In the surrounding of the Rimini’s dolce Vita of the early sixties, the commitment of two brothers Giuseppe and Primo create this vineyard now spread over an area of 69 acres. Since the beginning the aim has always been to trace back the ancient and local vine tradition with the support of new technique, equipment’s and infrastructures. Meanwhile the fields in the surrounding of Coriano were lacking of local manpower, which become the Riviera’s hotelier, the love and the passion for the land is still vibrant in the heart and soul of the two founder, which decided to re-establish the local Sangiovese grape variety, availing of the strong support and competence of a young agronomist from Faenza, Dr. Remigio Bordini.
