Visit the largest straw building in Europe

Achillée is a project initiated by the Dietrich family. It all began in 1990, when Yves, the father, took over
Yves, the father, took over the vineyard from his family and in-laws and thus exploited 4.5 ha of vines. This was followed by a phase of developement to finally work on 18.5 ha of vines and 6 ha of fruit trees, cherries, plums and mirabelles.
In 1999, Yves converted the farm to organic agriculture, then to biodynamic agriculture in 2003. He is then a grape supplier for a cooperative cellar. Becoming eager to control all the links of the chain, he decided to make his own wines. In 2016, he founded with his two sons Jean and Pierre, a bioclimatic cellar in association with the domain Jean-Paul Schmitt. Achillée was born!

Our Bio-climatic winery

In the center of the Alsace wine route, an innovative bioclimatic winery. We have built it
with larch wood and 90 tons of straw, to obtain a passive building, which uses no energy to cool or heat. Between the water recovery and the other small anecdotes of the building, we will
we'll share some building ideas...

Have a drink with a view on the castle

We are open every day from 10am to 7pm.
To relax, we also propose you to sit comfortably around a glass or a
or a plate of local products, in the middle of the vineyards, you can enjoy a sunset
on the mountains. A timeless experience in a breathtaking setting, to do with family or with friends.

Do you know the differences between organic, biodynamic and natural wines ?

We would be happy to explain our alternative production method to you through a cellar visit and
tasting. We also have the chance to make terroir expressions on five different types of soils. Sometimes blended and sometimes vinified separate to really  show the expression of  the soil. All our wines are made with all the Alsatian grape varieties.
