Here is what's in store for you
Meet Colin, your passionate and knowledgeable wine guide, directly at your accommodation in Colmar or Basel, where your day begins and ends. This immersive wine tour takes you into the heart of Baden-Württemberg, a captivating region known for its terraced Roman vineyards and exceptional wines.
Your day begins with a scenic drive along the Badische Weinstraße, one of Europe’s oldest and longest wine routes. Spanning over 200 km, this historic route winds through five key wine-growing districts: Ortenau, Kaiserstuhl, Tuniberg, Breisgau, and Markgräflerland.
Baden-Württemberg is celebrated for its world-class Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir), as well as other exquisite varietals such as Grauburgunder (Pinot Gris), Weißburgunder (Pinot Blanc), Muskateller, Gutedel, and Chardonnay.
First, you'll visit a prestigious family-run estate, renowned for Pinot Noir that often rivals top producers in Burgundy and Oregon. You’ll taste various varietals, including Weißburgunder, Gutedel, Grauburgunder, Chardonnay, Merlot, and Syrah—plus their celebrated single-vineyard Spätburgunders.
Lunch Stop (not included): Enjoy a traditional meal at a cozy Winstub in a nearby village, where you can savor regional specialties.
Next, you'll visit a second winery in the Kaiserstuhl region. Ascend through the picturesque vineyards of Achkarren and Totenkopf to a historic wine cooperative. Here, you’ll explore both traditional and modern winemaking techniques while tasting their acclaimed Grauburgunder and their rich, fruity Spätburgunder.
Conclude your tour at an exclusive VDP-certified family estate, where wines are crafted with exceptional care and precision. Sample their impressive Ortswein (village wines), Erste Lage (Premier Cru), and Grosse Gewächs (Grand Cru) labels.
After a day filled with superb wines and stunning landscapes, you’ll be returned to your accommodation in Colmar or Basel.
